The bastards at Monsanto, as all of you probably well know, have made a living for themselves abusing intelectual property rights by bullying small farms into being lock in customers. They typically accomplish this by convincing one farm, in a sea of farms, to switch to one of Monsanto's proprietary (genetically engineered and patented) varieties of soy or corn. After pollin season starts, the GMO seeds contaminate the natural, non-engineered crops of neighboring fields; initiating what is likely to be the beginning of the global extinction of many natural varieties of crops (which Monsanto knows) and effectively forcing these neighboring farms, despite their insistance on growing natural produce, to grow the GMO, proprietary variety. Monsanto then goes in to collect their hard-earned (lol) royalties from these small farms by threatening to sue them out of business for infringing patents unless they become paying Monsanto customers.
This despicable behavior may now finally be coming to an end. Several companies and coalitions are banning together to proactively sue Monsanto for 1) bullying small farming into paying customers, 2) producing seed that contaminates and thereby vandalizes neighboring farms, and 3) very likely inflicting irreversible ecological damage by driving natural varieties of seed into extinction and setting up a future for themselves of de facto monopoly over the food industry.
